17 Weeks

Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. His umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes now feature one-of-a-kind prints.

Average Fetus: 5.1 in, 5.9 oz.

Current weight: 104
I've been feeling lots of baby kicks this week- and just like Brody did, this baby kicks the most right after I eat. Travis got to feel the little kicks for the first time lastnight : ) At 16 weeks I was supposed to start the progesterone shots but we got a call from the home health place telling me how much it was going to cost (with our insurance) and it ended up to be over $1000 on top of meeting our deductible. We wanted to talk with my Dr to see if there were any other options and that's when she told us that instead of a nurse coming out to the house they could just write us the prescription and Travis could give me the shots....SO much cheaper.  So today we went and picked up all of the supplies we needed and then went to the Dr's office so they could teach Travis how to do it. I have to admit I was a little nervous, lol but he did great! I bet he didn't think giving me shots would be part of his husbandly duties ; )
