Happy mommy here :)

Well, we finally have a fence!  Ever since Brody started crawling I have been a nervous wreck about having a pool in our backyard ....and to make things worse we have a dog door in our back door that would make very easy, quick access to the pool. Brody is all about trying to figure things out so even though we keep the back door closed and the cover on the dog door I wouldn't put it past him to figure out how to get out that door.  So, on Friday the fence finally went in and I am such a happy mommy! Huge thanks to Travis's parents for that wonderful gift and to my dad for getting us a good price. :)

On Saturday Brody got to go out and play in his backyard for the first time and he loved it! He was running around giggling the whole time :)

"What the heck is this, mom!?"

Trying to climb through it

And notice that this was the first of December and he's outside in a t-shirt and diaper....ugh, Texas.

Love this pic of Brody and Bailey :)

We also got to start our nightly Christmas book reading on Saturday.  I have them all wrapped and under the tree and we let Brody pick one each night to unwrap. He also got his first advent calendar this year so he gets his chocolate while we're reading the book.  Pretty fun little tradition we started that will get even more fun as our kids are a little older. :)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

This is my absolute favorite time of year and I get so happy when it's time to decorate! Lastnight after Brody went to bed we got out all the Christmas stuff and turned on Christmas Vacation...I think that's what we watch every year when we're putting up the tree lol. Love that movie. :) This morning when Brody woke up Travis went and turned the lights on the tree on so he would see it when I brought him down the stairs...he was mesmerized :) This is going to be such a fun Christmas with him....I just can't wait to see his excitement when he gets all of his new toys on Christmas morning :)

I also started a new tradition for our family this year- I've collected Christmas books for each day of December until Christmas Eve and wrapped them. I'm going to put them in a bin by the Christmas tree and each night we are going to randomly pick one and read it to Brody.  On Christmas Eve he gets to open the special one - a box with "Twas the Night Before Christmas", new jammies and slippers. Christmas time with kids is SO much more fun :)

Here's a few pictures of our decorations.

And here's a picture of me and my big belly.  It's crazy to me that we are only about 10 weeks away from how far along I was when I had Brody. This pregnancy is going so fast.

Happy Thanksgiving! (and a few updates)

Last Thursday morning I had a Dr. Appt. and sonogram scheduled...the Dr. Appt got rescheduled but they still had me come in for the sonogram so we got a new picture of our precious girl :) Here she is at 23 weeks, measuring 11 1/2 inches and about 1 1/2 pounds.

Brody helped Daddy and Grandpa install our new kitchen faucet over the weekend. We finally have hot water again...and it was just in time for all those dishes from Thanksgiving!

We also got more Christmas shopping done while we were out Saturday (I am on it this year).  Happy to say that I am probably 60% done with our shopping (and wrapping!)   December is always SO busy for us and I just want to be able to enjoy it.

We had Thanksgiving at our house this year and I was really excited that I got to be the one to cook Brody's first Thanksgiving dinner :)

I'm pretty sure this was his favorite meal ever.

After dinner I went to go give Brody a bath upstairs and as I turned the tub faucet on water started spraying all over the bathroom. I turned off the tub and the water was still going everywhere- turned out it was because a piece of the hose on the toilet broke. The bathroom was soaked...along with a few of us. Nice little Thanksgiving memory there :)

We spent today relaxing and trying to recover from yesterday.  Hoping to get started on our Christmas decorations tomorrow :)

I love my life :)

I know I say it all the time but I am SO lucky to spend my days with these two. I love everyday I have with them.

Brody has been loving the park lately.... it's been a great way for us to get out of the house and spend some time around other kids. He loves the slides, climbing the mini rock wall and swinging...he also likes taking little walks around the park and picking up leaves and sticks along the way :)

Climbing back up the slide :)

Daddy & Brody on the swings :)

Brody figured out how to get up onto the couch by popping out the footrest....

So, now he likes to get up there and jump :)

He loves to share his food with the dogs....if you click on the picture you will see the piece of macaroni stuck in Milo's hair....our dogs are constantly covered in food now.  They will be going to the groomer next week for haircuts.

Caught this sweet moment when I walked into our room the other day. :)
Love them so much.

Today Brody was bored and we had already done all of our usual activities so I had to come up with something new to entertain him for awhile.....so he played with whipped cream....and he loved every second of it. :)

He makes me smile so many times a day :)

So, lastnight as I was cooking dinner I walked into the living room to check on Brody and here is what I find.....Brody sitting on the couch, phone in hand (we gave him Travis's old phone), cracking up at his cartoons. He makes me laugh so much .... everyday it's something new :)

That's all, goodnight.

More Halloween

For Brody's pumpkin this year I thought Elmo would be perfect, not scary and he LOVES Sesame Street.  Travis being the awesome daddy that he is did a great job carving it :)

Brody had a snack and watched some cartoons while daddy was busy carving.

Brody and his pumpkin on Halloween morning

We ended up trick or treating in my dad's neighborhood (mostly visiting the people that have lived in the neighborhood since I was a kid so Grandpa could show off Brody). After trick or treating we went to dinner and then went to Travis's parents. It was a very late night for Brody but he had a blast. He loved it and by the end of the night he was a pro at putting candy into his basket :)

Here's our cute little sock monkey :)

Between grandparents and trick or treating this is what he ended up with.

Introducing.....

We picked a name....and we think it's a pretty good one. I celebrated tonight by buying lots of cute little girly clothes.  Can't wait to meet Miss Skylar Paige. :)

Halloween Fun

Last Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch near our house that we took Brody to last year when he was just a month old. They have a "how tall in the fall" sign that we stood him next to last year so it was fun to see how much he's grown. Here's the picture from last year and then the one we took this year.

It was really sunny but we got a pretty good family picture

He found his pumpkin :)

Brody even got to sit on Grandpa's motorcycle....I pray he never wants one of these- mommy would never sleep.

Then on Sunday afternoon we went to the church for Brody's first time trick or treating.  He loved it and caught on pretty quick. I held him for the first few cars (this was trunk or treat) and then put him down to go on his own. He was a pro. One person had the basket on the ground and Brody ran up and just helped himself. :)

He had lots of fun playing at the church playground
when he got done trick or treating

And finally, one of my favorite pictures ever and the reason Brody was Superman for Halloween .....He loves to "be super". :) He's so cute I can't stand it :)
He will be dressing up as a sock monkey for his next round of trick or treating on Halloween night so more pictures to come :)
